In the 1960’s a famous test was completed using children and marshmallows. Would a child forgo the pleasure of a single marshmallow for the delayed pleasure of two marshmallows?
The results of the study were very fascinating and uncovered the spiritual importance of The Will of a human. Biblically speaking, the free will of an individual is one of the greatest gifts the Lord has bestowed about His children. Although, many find free will or choice to be a difficult paradigm that may have assisted in the evil of the world, it is a beautiful and profound gift from the Lord.
This week, Pastor David will teach on the power of The Will and how it is to be used as a gift that we can give unto our Father in Heaven. It is the agent of response to the Resurrection.
“So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”
Now Cain talked with Abel his [f]brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.” Genesis 6:4-9
