This week, Pastor David continues our new sermon series on “Rediscovering Jesus.” Many names are given to Jesus; He holds many positions of authority. In John 1, the disciple that Jesus loved begins the Gospel with the paradigm of Jesus being the WORD. This may be the most perplexing word in the entirety of the Bible. In Greek: Logos; in Aramaic: Memra; in Hebrew: Davar, and in English: The Word.

What does John mean by “In the beginning was the Word” and that “the Word became flesh? All of these languages are attempting to convey the idea behind the meaning of “The Divine Reason.”

This week let us learn what is the “Divine Reason” of Heaven and Earth, and the divine reason of all things. For in the beginning, the Lord spoke a word and created light.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” John 1”1-5
